Brown Hound Tree Service offers tree trimming, tree removal, stump grinding, and storm damage cleanup. We also have a sawmill and an iDRY kiln and can cut custom live edge slabs or dimensional lumber, and we can kiln-dry it and flatten it for you. Already have wood that needs to be dried? We can do that, too.
At the time of the estimate, or even when you first call in, request a Certificate of Insurance. A reputable company will be able to have this emailed to you, directly from their insurance company. The company should have General Liability, Inland Marine, and Commercial Auto policies. In Virginia, if a company has three or more employees, they are also legally required to carry Workers Compensation. A company without these policies puts you, the property owner, at risk if an accident were to occur, such as damage to personal property or bodily injury.

We cannot. Pictures and words won't do it justice. We like to meet with you in person, if possible, and assess the tree's health and proximity to personal property. We also need to know where your well and septic systems are (if applicable) so we don't drive heavy machinery over them.

It really depends on how big your brush pile is. To be honest, to save you money, you can either rent a chipper and locate it on your property where you want to put the chips, or lay the brush out on the curb for bulk pickup.
We subcontract experienced, licensed and insured climbers in the area. We will always run this option by you at the time of the estimate, or course!

We never encourage anyone to take down a healthy tree with the hopes of being paid money for it, nor do we takes trees down in exchange for the wood. If we were to mill and sell the slabs from your tree, odds are, we aren't going to make enough from the sales to cover the cost of your tree removal. We can lower the price of your work, depending on the health of the tree and the tree species. We can also offer you first choice of the live-edge slabs from your tree.
As long as there was money exchanged in creating that debris, we cannot leave it on the curb. We are happy to provide you with a quote to both include and exclude the price of debris removal.
